Responsibilities:
- Abides by and enforces all compliance requirements and policies and performs these responsibilities in an ethical manner consistent with the organization's values
- Adheres to hospital policies including confidentiality
- Participates in the evaluation of environmental and safety issues and intervenes appropriately
- Assists with orientation of new employees as assigned
- Requires minimal supervision to safely perform essential functions
- Utilizes proper body mechanics when moving equipment that is necessary to perform essential functions
- Maintains clean work area with appropriate forms and supplies
- Acknowledges the presence of staff, physicians and visitors at the nursing station
- Runs errands to support the needs of the unit
- Processes requests and orders during computer downtime
- Utilizes the Hospital Information System to enter requests for unit maintenance and repair
- Order supplies and unit inventory
- Serves as receptionist
- Answers the telephone in a prompt and courteous manner
- Performs general clerical duties
- The role involves frequent sitting, with occasional standing and walking, as well as tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and stooping or crouching
- Completes all mandatory unit, educational and hospital requirements
- Utilizes cost effective practices in performing all aspects of the job
- Adheres to Infection Control and Safety Standards
- Participates in Performance Improvement activities as assigned
- Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
- Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
- Regular and prompt attendance
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
- Related duties as assigned
Additional Information:
Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent Required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support within 60 Days Required
- Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
