Responsibilities
Accountabilities 1. Support the administrative and operational needs of the medical team. Anticipate demands and make sure necessary files, supplies and information are prepared and available when needed.2. Answer incoming calls to a busy telephone line. Assess each caller's urgency and priority, and either provide information, take messages or forward to appropriate party.3. Greet visitors, who are primarily family members and guests of the patients. Advise and assist in understanding the hospital, its rules and services. Give directions, provide factual information and make guests comfortable while waiting.4. Maintain order and location of patient medical records during hospital stay and upon discharge. File materials such as care plans and lab reports as requested in resident charts. Thin charts according to established time frames and procedures.5. Communicate pertinent information and changes in physician orders appropriately to healthcare team members, support personnel, patients, and family members. Establish and maintains therapeutic relations with patients, families, visitors and staff.6. Answer unit call lights promptly. Assess patient requests and alert or summon appropriate healthcare team member. Make appointments for patients as requested by patients/families, as ordered by physicians and approved by and recorded in the plan of care (e.g., medical, dental, and therapy appointments).7. Transports supplies, documents, and specimens utilizing appropriate body mechanics and knowledge of hazardous materials.8. Maintain work area in a neat and organized manner. Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and family.9. Manage data, such as that required for census management and order entry. Enter data to appropriate systems.10. Maintain adequate inventory of office supplies and order and stock supplies as necessary, following established limits and guidelines.11. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education• High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required Experience• 2 years of general office and/or customer service experience required Licenses and Certifications• BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) preferred

These centers have been developed in accordance with standards established for safety net providers by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA), the Public Health Service (PHS), and the Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC).

As such, services are offered to the neediest in each community - the un-insured and under-insured, the working poor, those with limited ability to pay, the homeless, and the indigent. Services are provided at discounted (sliding fee scale) rates for those who qualify based on gross annual income and family size.
