Compensation & Schedule
- Starting Pay:Starting wage is $30.49/hour, which is 91% of the full union scale. Full scale is $33.51/hour, as outlined in the Teamsters Local 313 collective bargaining agreement.
- Schedule:Monday-Friday, occasional Saturdays as needed
- Hours:Approximately 45 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a rear-load garbage truck along designated routes
- Collect refuse and recyclables according to route sheets
- Perform routinevehicle inspectionsandbasic maintenance
- Operate hydraulic controls to lift and dispose of waste
- Maintain professional and courteous interactions with customers
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, pushing, and pulling items over 100 lbs
Working Conditions
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Exposure to mechanical parts, moderate noise, and occasional fumes
- Frequentheavy liftingand adherence to strict safety protocols
Minimum Requirements
- ValidClass B CDLwith air brake endorsement (Class A not required)
- Candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience inwaste management, trucking, orheavy equipment operation, andmust not have held more than three jobs in the past five years.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Basic knowledge of truck components for pre- and post-trip inspections
- SAFETY SENSITIVE: YES
