Compensation & Schedule

  • Starting Pay:Starting wage is $30.49/hour, which is 91% of the full union scale. Full scale is $33.51/hour, as outlined in the Teamsters Local 313 collective bargaining agreement.
  • Schedule:Monday-Friday, occasional Saturdays as needed
  • Hours:Approximately 45 hours per week


Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a rear-load garbage truck along designated routes
  • Collect refuse and recyclables according to route sheets
  • Perform routinevehicle inspectionsandbasic maintenance
  • Operate hydraulic controls to lift and dispose of waste
  • Maintain professional and courteous interactions with customers
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, pushing, and pulling items over 100 lbs


Working Conditions

  • Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
  • Exposure to mechanical parts, moderate noise, and occasional fumes
  • Frequentheavy liftingand adherence to strict safety protocols


Minimum Requirements

  • ValidClass B CDLwith air brake endorsement (Class A not required)
  • Candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience inwaste management, trucking, orheavy equipment operation, andmust not have held more than three jobs in the past five years.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Basic knowledge of truck components for pre- and post-trip inspections
  • SAFETY SENSITIVE: YES
