Job Description
General Purpose of Job:
The manager of the Regional Professional Coding Teams within the Regional Revenue Cycle Department is responsible for accurate and timely diagnosis and procedure coding, charge capture and abstracting of all required data elements. Maintain and monitor all professional coding workflow and work queues to support timely reimbursement for the Regional Revenue Cycle Department. The Regional Professional Coding Manager ensures the adherence to standards of ethical and compliant coding, Center of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), AHA Official ICD-10-CM Coding Guidelines, CPT, and other regulatory standards. Develop, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and systems for proper coding and reporting. Assist with the development of System-wide Policies and Procedures that comply with TJC, MDPH, OIG, and Health System established standards.

Job Requirements
General Requirements Certification as an RHIT or CCS by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or CPC by the American Association of Procedural Coders (AAPC) Member in good standing with the AHIMA and/or AAPC RHIA - preferred Work Experience Minimum of 3 years of lead or supervisor experience with progressively more responsibility. Minimum of 5 years of relevant coding experience Education Associates degree in HIM or relevant healthcare field Bachelors degree - preferred. Specialized Knowledge and Skills Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet applications. Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as required for essential duties of the job. Epic experience - preferred Optum and/or 3M encoder experience - preferred
