Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist (Weekend Shift)

Location: Manhattan, NY 10003
Duration: 9 Weeks (with possibility of extension)
Schedule:

  • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Sunday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Pay Rate: $45 – $51 per hour (based on experience)


Job Overview

The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing and assisting with ultrasound examinations, providing technical support to radiologists, and ensuring proper maintenance and operation of ultrasound equipment. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and position patients for ultrasound examinations following established procedures
  • Operate and adjust ultrasound equipment while ensuring patient and staff safety
  • Set up, clean, and perform minor maintenance on ultrasound equipment
  • Ensure adequate supplies are available for procedures
  • Assist in training and mentoring new ultrasound staff
  • Capture diagnostic images and upload them to PACS, ensuring availability for physician review
  • Answer phones, schedule exams, and assist with patient transportation as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

  • Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications
  • Knowledge of office and administrative practices
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and professionalism

Education Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Technology
    OR
  • High School Diploma/GED with successful completion of an accredited ultrasound/sonography training program

Certifications & Licensure

  • ARDMS – Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
