Pay: $50-53/HR for Travelers
Pay: $40/HR for Locals


Job Overview

The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations, provides technical support to radiologists, and ensures proper operation and maintenance of ultrasound equipment. This role requires strong patient care skills, technical expertise, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services within a specialized imaging department.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with departmental protocols
  • Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety
  • Operate, adjust, clean, and maintain ultrasound equipment
  • Capture and transfer images via PACS to physician workstations
  • Assist radiologists during procedures as needed
  • Maintain adequate supplies for daily operations
  • Answer phones, schedule exams, and coordinate patient transport when required
  • Assist in training and mentoring new ultrasound staff
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Education & Certification Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Technology
    OR
  • High School Diploma/GED with successful completion of an accredited ultrasound/sonography training program
  • ARDMS/RDMS Certification required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
  • Experience performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations
  • Experience with PACS image capture and management
  • Strong knowledge of ultrasound equipment operation and maintenance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and professionalism
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • English proficiency (read, write, and speak) required

Additional Information

  • Approximately 9-week contract assignment
  • Monday–Friday schedule with no weekend requirement
  • No on-call requirement
  • Hospital-based imaging opportunity
  • Immediate start available
  • Must be able to work onsite for the duration of the assignment
