Experience needed:
Minimum 12 months of experience in diagnostic medical sonography specialties required by this contract
No lapse in clinical services greater than 6 consecutive months within the 6 months prior to start date
Responsibilities & required skills:
Provide uninterrupted outpatient diagnostic medical sonography services at Pinon Health Center
Perform ultrasonographic testing using non-ionizing, high-frequency ultrasound equipment as ordered
Recognize and interpret diagnostic images; notify radiologist or ordering physician of significant findings
Proficiency in full-body ultrasonographic imaging for all ages and genders (pregnant and non-pregnant)
Obstetric, vascular, and procedural ultrasonography skills
Sterile and aseptic techniques; Trophon probe disinfection system maintenance
Explain procedures to patients, position patients, and transfer them to and from the exam table. Schedule patients; evaluate and prioritize critical and emergency procedures. Clean, perform routine maintenance, and maintain maintenance records for ultrasound equipment
Maintain 100% accurate, timely, legible electronic health record (EHR) documentation. Adhere to IHS Service Unit policies, Federal Code of Conduct, and Joint Commission standards. Manage all patient information in compliance with HIPAA and the Privacy Act
Rotate into other duty sections as directed by Supervisor to support patient care needs
