Job Title : UI/UX Designer
Location  : Chicago, IL/Waukesha, WI
Duration  : 6 months + possible extension
Rate Range: $55- $60/hour on W2/ C2C (All inclusive)

Introduction

We are seeking a highly skilled UI/UX Designer to lead and innovate our design processes, ensuring the delivery of intuitive and user-friendly digital experiences. The ideal candidate will be experienced in driving design strategies, conducting user research, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align product visions with user needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of professional experience in UI/UX design.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating complex problem-solving and end-to-end design ownership.
  • Expertise in UX research methodologies, information architecture, and interaction design.
  • Advanced proficiency in design tools such as Figma (preferred), Adobe XD, Sketch, and prototyping tools like Framer, Axure, and InVision.
  • Deep understanding of design systems, scalability, responsive and mobile-first design, and accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and front-end frameworks.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Prior work experience in the client's industry.

Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience leading design teams or large-scale projects.
  • Exposure to enterprise products, SaaS platforms, or domain-specific systems (e.g., BFSI, healthcare).
  • Familiarity with data-driven design and A/B testing.
  • Experience collaborating with global teams.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end UX design lifecycle: research, ideation, wireframing, prototyping, and final UI delivery.
  • Drive design strategy aligned with business goals and user needs.
  • Conduct advanced user research, usability testing, and heuristic evaluations.
  • Define and evolve design systems, UI standards, and component libraries for scalability.
  • Mentor and guide junior designers, ensuring design quality and consistency.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to shape product vision.
  • Translate complex workflows into simple, intuitive experiences.
  • Use data, user insights, and analytics to optimize design decisions.
  • Advocate for accessibility, usability, and inclusive design principles.
  • Ensure high-quality implementation by working closely with engineering teams.
  • Stay current with emerging design trends, tools, and technologies.
