At ProService, we help Hawaii employers navigate the complexity of running a business — and unemployment insurance is one of the most consequential areas we touch. When a separation happens, employers need someone who knows the process, can represent them credibly, and keeps them informed every step of the way. That’s this role.
You’ll own your caseload from initial claim intake through hearing representation, serving as the primary point of contact for clients navigating the UI process. The work is both regulatory and client-facing — no two separations are the same, hearings require real preparation, and the outcomes you drive directly affect the employers who trust us.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
- Research, prepare, and respond to all State UI requests — including SIDES, BP-35, and monetary determination reviews — with complete, accurate submissions within established KPI deadlines.
- Prepare for and represent ProService and its clients at unemployment insurance hearings before the DLIR-DCD, building strong cases independently and advocating confidently.
- Manage all client and worksite employee communication related to UI claims — answering inquiries, walking people through the process, and resolving escalations by end of business day.
- Onboard and offboard clients into ProService’s UI program, ensuring accurate account setup and seamless transitions.
- Stay current on UI regulations and state requirements, and proactively communicate changes that may affect clients’ businesses.
IS THIS ROLE RIGHT FOR YOU?
This is a compliance role where accuracy, responsiveness, and deadline management matter every day. You’ll be managing multiple concurrent cases, fielding client inquiries, and representing clients at hearings — sometimes all in the same week. The work is detail-oriented and moves quickly, so staying organized and proactive is essential.
This role works best for someone who’s comfortable owning their caseload with general guidance rather than step-by-step oversight. Clients rely on ProService to navigate the UI process on their behalf, and you’ll be their main point of contact. We expect you to stay on top of your workload, communicate early when something needs attention, and come to the table with solutions.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TEAM
Prior experience in unemployment insurance claims processing — including separations, appeals, and state correspondence — is important for this role. We’re looking for someone who understands the UI process and is ready to put that knowledge to work from day one.
You’re probably a fit if:
- You have hands-on UI claims experience. You’re comfortable completing SIDES responses, BP-35 forms, or equivalent state correspondence, and you know what an accurate, timely submission looks like.
- You have hearing experience. You’ve prepared for and participated in a DLIR hearing (or equivalent) and can represent an employer or client clearly and confidently.
- You manage a caseload without things falling through the cracks. You stay organized across multiple concurrent cases with different deadlines — you have a system, and it works.
- You communicate clearly with clients under pressure. You can explain complex regulatory topics in plain language and help people feel informed and supported, even when the situation is stressful.
- You take ownership and follow through without being reminded. You speak up early when something needs attention and bring solutions, not just problems.
