Summary

The Facility Maintenance Specialist will oversee and provide safe, effective, timely maintenance in order to meet daily production needs and goals. They will ensure the facility maintenance is conducted according to daily, weekly, and monthly schedules and supervise facility maintenance team members and support departments to complete maintenance requests.

Responsibilities
  • Effectively oversee and lead facility maintenance team members
    • Monitor the status of maintenance tasks, track completion, and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities
    • Create and implement maintenance schedules to ensure minimal disruption to operations while maximizing equipment uptime
    • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and potential improvement
    • Respond to emergency maintenance requests, as needed
    • Tracks and manages West Point VPC work order software
    • Delegate tasks effectively and ensure the team's cohesiveness and productivity
    • Assist in contacting vendors for general repairs
    • Assist in developing more effective maintenance procedures
    • Develop / maintain good working relationships with other departments
    • Train facility maintenance team members
  • Vehicle mechanics and parts replacements
    • Light to heavy industrial building maintenance
    • Light to moderate industrial plumbing
    • Industrial preventative maintenance
    • Light to heavy industrial painting
  • Ensure that company premises and facilities are kept in clean and hygienic condition
    • Implement workplace safety policies and standards
    • Performs other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills in English Required
  • Ability to Communicate Effectively with Vendors and Internal Departments Required
  • Skills in Organizing and Prioritizing Work Activities Required
  • Ability to Read and Write, and Follow Verbal and Written Instructions Required
  • Ability to Use Hand Tools Required
  • Facility Maintenance Experience Required
  • Work Order Systems Experience Required
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma/G.E.D Required
  • Associates Degree Preferred
  • 4 Years of Direct Experience in Facility Maintenance and/or Multiple Industry Trades Required
  • 6 Years of Direct Experience in Facility Maintenance and/or Multiple Industry Trades Preferred
  • 2 Years of Indirect Experience Required
  • 4 Years of Indirect Experience Preferred
  • 1 - 3 Years of Supervisory Experience Required
  • 4 - 7 Years of Supervisory Experience Preferred
  • Valid Driver's License with Good Driving Record Required
  • HVAC / Electrical / PLC / Plumbing Training Preferred
  • Accredited Technical College Certification Preferred

This position works in a plant manufacturing/warehouse setting at West Point, GA
  • Ability to operate a golf cart and Glovis yard vehicles
  • Precisely perform sanding, brushing touch-ups, and taping

  • Exposure to sanding, dust, and fumes
  • The position is based in a plant manufacturing/warehousing environment
  • Communication with employees and field partners will be primarily conducted via phone and email
