Job Description:

The Employment & Training Administration is currently seeking a part-time Typist 2 to join their team.

The Typist 2 will provide administrative support and assistance to the youth employment programs including payroll, data entry and organization ofprogram documentation. This is a public-facing role that involves extensive interaction with the general public.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Answering phones, directing calls, sending emails and responding to incoming emails, and assisting with referral to resources.
  • Assist staff and supervisors with administrative support, tasks, preparing materials, and assisting youth and families with questions and projects as needed.
  • Enter data for payroll for youth program participants; enter data for reporting purposes for youth program participants.
  • Timesheet collection, filing and organization both electronically and otherwise.
  • Organize documentation and data for program requirements; sending reminders about deadlines, and communicating schedules or updates to youth, parents, and employers.
  • Assist with preparation of data for audits and presentations.
Requirements:

Education and Experience Required: Graduation from high school or high school equivalency (GED/HSE). Three years of clerical, data entry, payroll, administrative support.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
  • Ability to type 35 wpm
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Outlook email
  • Ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationship with supervising personnel, coworkers, and all constituents and the public
  • Perform well under pressure, within time constraints, with a high degree of accuracy, diplomacy and confidentiality
  • Ability to coordinate workflow while dealing with multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to present complex information and data in a coherent fashion
  • Must be able to travel between the ETA worksite, including Newburgh, Middletown, Port Jervis and Goshen
Additional Information:

Salary: $23 per hour, part time, 19 hours per week, 5 days a week, mornings and some afternoon hours. This position is contingent upon the continued availability of grant funds.
