Trust Administrator

Compensation:$70,000 to $83,000 DOE (depending on experience)

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Trust Administrator to join its growing Private Client Services team. This position offers the opportunity to work with sophisticated high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, administering a wide variety of trust accounts while delivering exceptional client service.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience administering trusts through a bank, private trust company, law firm, accounting firm, or similar fiduciary environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building long-term client relationships, managing complex trust accounts, and working alongside an experienced team of trust professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer a portfolio of revocable, irrevocable, charitable, and other trust accounts from acceptance through termination.

  • Work directly with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients, beneficiaries, attorneys, CPAs, and financial advisors.

  • Process quarterly and discretionary trust distributions and ensure accurate trust accounting.

  • Coordinate payment of client expenses and bills in accordance with trust documents.

  • Calculate trust distributions and maintain accurate fiduciary records.

  • Assist with trust accounting, cash management, and administration of trust assets.

  • Coordinate preparation of fiduciary and individual tax returns, including familiarity with Form 1040, fiduciary income tax matters, and gift tax concepts.

  • Interpret trust documents and ensure administration complies with fiduciary obligations and governing instruments.

  • Maintain detailed documentation and correspondence for each trust account.

  • Record daily billable time and maintain productivity goals of approximately 5–6 billable hours per day.

  • Collaborate closely with other Trust Administrators and members of the Private Client Services team.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of trust administration experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience working in a bank, private trust company, law firm, accounting firm, or fiduciary services environment.

  • Strong understanding of trust administration and fiduciary principles.

  • Experience working with high-net-worth clients.

  • Knowledge of trust accounting, trust distributions, and fiduciary recordkeeping.

  • Familiarity with individual tax returns (Form 1040), fiduciary taxation, and gift tax concepts is highly preferred.

  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and client service skills.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple matters while maintaining accuracy.

Work Environment

  • Fully in-office position

  • Two work-from-home days per month
