Eligibility:

  • Minimum 12 months of safe driving experience
  • Employed with U.S. Xpress for at least 30 days
  • In good standing with the company
  • Maintain a great safety record

Must have Class A License (CDL A), & 21 years or older and have one year of CDL A experience to be qualified to train. Drivers who upgraded at USX must have 9 months of USX experience post-upgrade to be eligible to train. Drivers must have 30 consecutive days with USX before being eligible to train. No more than 1 CMV on-road preventable accident in the last 2 years. No major CMV preventable accidents in the last 5 years. No more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years. Drivers must have a good safety record and a good operational service record to be eligible to train. In general, drivers cannot be on any type of probation. Drivers cannot have had any preventable Class B accident in the last 6 months, and cannot have had any preventable Class C or Above accidents in the last 12 months. (The only exception is accidents classified by Safety as category A accidents.) Drivers cannot have received any Unsafe CSA points in the last 6 months. Driver cannot have been placed OOS (out of service) due to HOS (hours of service) or HazMat violations in the last 12 months. Drivers should not have a record that indicates a poor attitude or difficulty dealing with Operations or customers. No DUI/DWI within the past 5 years, or 10 years if the offense occurred while holding a CDL. Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug test. No drug related conviction within the past 5 years, or 10 years if the offense occurred while holding a CDL. SAP drivers are not eligible for hire.
