General Summary

We are currently looking for Transfer, and 10-wheel drivers at Cinderlite to drive with capacity of more than 3 tons, to transport materials to and from specified destinations.
Cinderlite is a leading construction materials, landscape supply, and transportation company in Carson City, Nevada. Cinderlite operates five aggregate yards and one recycling yard in and around Carson City. The company has a robust aggregate transportation business with a well-established fleet of trucks and drivers.

Essential Job Accountabilities
  • Drives truck to destination, applying knowledge of DOT driving regulations and area roads.
  • Maintain accurate trip tickets and load documentation.
  • Performs daily pre/post trip inspections.
  • Collects payment for goods delivered and for delivery charges.
  • May maintain truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
  • May maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
  • May load and unload truck.
  • May inspect truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
  • May perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.
  • May position blocks and tie rope around items to secure cargo during transit.

Education
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience

Certification
  • Must have a CDL class A
  • Air brakes
  • Doubles/triples
  • Tanker endorsements

Work Experience
  • 1 to 3 yrs. experience in construction hauling preferred.
  • 18 Speed manual transmission
  • Transfer trucks, end dump trucks, and belly dumps (Transfer driver)

  • Read and interpret road maps
  • Practice good safety habits
  • Work in dusty or dirty surroundings
  • Follow instructions and meet set standards for hauling and scheduling
  • Judge distances and weights accurately
  • Make decisions based on verifiable standards.

Physically, workers must be able to:
  • Stoop, bend, and crouch
  • Use hands, arms, and legs fully
  • See well (either naturally or with correction)
  • Lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
