In this role, you will operate commercial vehicles to transport solid waste from transfer stations to designated landfill sites and waste diversion facilities. Responsibilities include securing loads, completing required documentation, following all safety and environmental regulations, and performing basic vehicle inspections and maintenance.

Responsibilities

What youll be doing:

  • Transport solid waste and recyclable/diverted materials from transfer stations to landfill sites and regional end markets.
  • Secure loads in compliance with DOT safety regulations, including manually deploying, rolling, and securing tarps during loading and unloading.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers, documenting and reporting any mechanical or safety concerns.
  • Fuel, grease, and clean trucks daily to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Ensure waste loads are properly secured and comply with weight regulations and safety standards.
  • Complete daily driver logs, trip sheets, scale tickets, inspection forms, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Follow established haul schedules, assigned routes, weight limits, and all traffic laws.
  • Work safely in a variety of weather and site conditions, including wind, dust, mud, snow, and uneven landfill terrain.

Qualifications

All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.

  • Possession of a valid drivers license by date of hire required
  • Possession of, and ability to maintain a class A commercial drivers license (CDL) without the following restrictions required.'L - No Air Brake; 'O - No Tractor/Trailer; 'E - No Manual Transmission; 'Z - No Full Air Brake Equipped CMV; Tanker Endorsement (
  • N) by date of hire required.
  • Two (2) years of experience in commercial, waste hauling, or similar heavy vehicle driving required.

The typical schedule for this position is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime required as needed.
