Job Description

Position Summary 

 

The Truck Driver is responsible for driving trucks and moving trailers to transport materials on site from the warehouse and various locations as required for transport and delivery. 

 

Position Responsibilities - Essential 

 

Operate and maintain a clean company truck in a safe and professional manner 

Unload, pick up and deliver products at customer and other designated locations using a safe, courteous, and service-oriented method 

Perform pre/post trip inspections 

Utilize hand trucks, forklifts, pallet jack, hoists, conveyors, or handling equipment to move material to and from delivery transportation vehicles  

Ensure and confirm that the correct type and amount of product is being picked up/delivered 

Responsible for the safe operation, working condition, of truck and equipment, inventory of all driver tools, to include handhelds, handcarts, and hand trucks 

Follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job 

Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that may include inclement weather, heat, and humidity; Noise level may be loud at times 

Drivers will work the A, B, C & D 12-hour rotating shifts 

Drivers on shift, must always answer the phone 

Site support with snow removal if needed 

Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities 

Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a “safety-sensitive” position  

 

Position Responsibilities - Non-Essential/Other 

 

Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) 

Other duties and special projects as assigned 

 

 

Essential Skills and Experience 

 

High School diploma or GED equivalent 

One (1) year of experience driving semi-trucks 

One (1) year of experience operating forklifts 

Must have valid driver’s license and clean Motor Vehicle Report  

Ability to obtain on-site forklift certification  

Ability to pass training for on-site operating procedures for operating yard truck, dumpster truck, and fuel truck 

Excellent attention to detail and sense of urgency 

Ability to work independently and provide excellent customer service 

Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (heat and cold) 

Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture  

Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s) 

 

Beneficial Skills and Experience 

 

Greater than three (3) years of experience in related field and industry 

Prior fuel truck, terminal truck, and/or dumpster truck experience
