While working to achieve N3B LLCC objectives, will ensure all activities and operations are performed in a safe and deliberate manner; will maintain required safety, security and operational training; assure procedural and regulatory compliance; and make safety, security and quality an integral part of every task; including taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security.
 
 
EssentialDuties/Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):
 
  • Develops, implements, administers and certifies activities taken to comply with WIPP and M/LLW site receipt criteria 
  • Ensures N3B waste management activities are conducted in alignment with Federal, state and local waste transportation requirements
  • Provides compliance direction, investigates non compliances /complaints and verifies deficiencies are corrected.
  • Develops waste certification plans for CH-TRU and M/LLW wastes
  • Analyzes metrics and audits functional compliance program.
  • Provides interface with CCP and LANS on waste data and certification packages.
  • Develops generator waste certification packages for delivery to CCP and the N3B Waste Certification Official for offsite waste disposal
  • Maintains knowledge of WIPP and M/LLW disposal criteria


  • Broad understanding of principles, concepts and techniques in the field of radioactive waste management, with knowledge of environmental regulations, local utility codes and surveying techniques and procedures.
  • Skill and ability to perform complex professional tasks independently with little instruction
  • Ability to work within established policies and procedures, using independent judgment and ingenuity.
  • Level of language skills, mathematical skills, communication skills, reasoning ability and computer skills necessary to perform essential functions of the job.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance.
 
Education and Experience Required:
 
Bachelors' degree in appropriate discipline; however, a combination of education and relevant experience wherein the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the position’s duties and responsibilities have been adequately demonstrated is acceptable.  
 
The career level of the position will be determined by the years of relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities; after a candidate has been chosen.
