Duties:
- Assess patient condition and establish appropriate nursing needs. Identifies goals and nursing actions required to meet diagnosis-specific goals. Develops a plan that addresses physical, psychological, social, emotional and spiritual needs.
- Collaborates with patient, family members, and health care team members with development, implementation, and evaluation of patient plan of care. Integrates cultural and age-specific differences when developing, implementing, and evaluating patient's plan of care.
- Provides appropriate educational material for patients and/or family members that address areas of concern related to nursing diagnosis and self-care needs.
- Provides nursing services to outpatient/ or triage. Follow nursing standards, policies, and procedures when delivering nursing treatment to clients. Nursing treatment will include, but is not limited to safe handling of medications, IV medication administration, emergency such as cardiac.
- Evaluates progress toward meeting patient care goals. Collaborates with patient, family members, and members of health care team to revise plan of care as needed.
- Actively participates with orientation of new personnel. Serves as a positive role model for new employees while encouraging a high level of professional conduct and maintaining a positive work attitude.
- Utilizes existing quality-improvement systems to create constructive change. Participates in development, identification, implementation, and evaluation of clinic and medical center goals.
- Participates in economic utilization of supplies and assists in maintaining infection control policies while creating a safe working environment.
- Maintains strict confidentiality with regard to patient information.
- Utilizes health care team resources to maximize quality patient care.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures of K'ima:w Medical Center.
- Participation in the CQI process to ensure JC accreditation is maintained and ongoing improvements in patient care outcomes.
- Participate in clinic pharmacy procedures to include appropriate medication requisitions, stock maintenance, and removal of outdated or expiring medications. Employee participates in patient case management.
- Other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing; bachelor's degree preferred and one to two years related experience. Valid California R.N. Licensure, Current BLS certification, Current ACLS certification, Current PALS certification
