Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.Position OverviewTrenchless EIT/ Specialist will report to the Trenchless Services Engineering Lead and have primary responsibilities supporting the execution of design and field services associated with trenchless services: engineering, design, and construction applications.ResponsibilitiesThe Trenchless EIT/ Specialist will:Contribute to the Trenchless Program by utilizing experience and expertise to support engineering and design practices, including hydraulic fracture and inadvertent returns analyses, front‑end information collection initiatives, feasibility assessments, and recommendations for mitigation throughout the lifecycle of trenchless projects.Manage data, quality control, planning, and risk management for all trenchless initiatives.Travel extensively for field‑based assignments, conducting site reconnaissance and overseeing trenchless pipeline installations, monitoring daily activities, reporting progress, and communicating with team members and clients.Perform desk‑top route selection and evaluate feasibility for design and construction of trenchless crossings.Carry out site reconnaissance visits.Develop subsurface investigation programs to determine feasibility of construction for various trenchless installation methods.Evaluate surface and subsurface conditions based on collected data and determine preferred construction techniques.Interface with team discipline leads and production staff (geotechnical, CAD, etc.) and communicate frequently to support design deliverables.Communicate regularly with clients regarding project status and technical discussions.Estimate quantities of materials used and disposed for trenchless pipeline installations.Estimate installation loading and stress for trenchless pipeline installations.Assess trenchless technologies (Horizontal Directional Drilling, micro‑tunneling, tunneling, Direct Pipe, etc.) and participate in method selection.Perform calculations to determine carrier pipe and coating specifications.Define workspace requirements for construction equipment at trenchless crossing locations.Prepare and review project documentation, including design/construction specifications, bid packages, drawings, design reports, engineering assessments, and data sets.Build knowledge and use of available software models for trenchless pipeline design.Interface with project team members outside of the Trenchless Team and other company functions on multidisciplinary projects.Develop permit application documents and drawings.Understand applicable industry standards and governing codes for relevant markets (Oil & Gas, Water/Wastewater, Power, etc.) and ensure compliance.Prepare field engineering and as‑built documents.Contribute to the definition/updating of department standards and procedures and provide feedback and lessons learned.Perform construction oversight or observation in the field, monitoring and reporting on daily activities, identifying problematic conditions, and providing recommendations.Travel may be extensive depending on project needs.This position is subject to a pre‑employment drug test.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree.An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture.Preferred QualificationsEIT (Engineering in Training) certification or ability to obtain it; C‑EIT designation and desire to pursue PE credentials.
