Position Overview
To provide a fun and welcoming environment for our High Adventure guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet SBR trek guests as they arrive
- Provide information about Summit evening program, dining hall hours, store hours, etc.
- Facilitate evening activities in trek camp
- Oversee the daily check-in, departure, and verification of trek guests for whitewater
- Write an end-of-season report to include operational improvements for your area
- Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
- Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
- Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
- Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook
Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18+
- General computer skills (Excel, Word, software navigation)
- Valid driver license and ability to obtain a Summit Driving Permit
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
Physical & Practical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and hike and up to 10 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 70 pounds
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
- Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45 - 55
