Job Summary

Support patient meal service by preparing, assembling, and delivering trays in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Ensure accuracy, quality, and timely service while maintaining food safety, sanitation, and operational standards under the supervision of a Food Service Supervisor.


 

Qualifications

  • Assemble patient meal trays according to diet orders, menu selections, and portion standards
  • Maintain efficient tray line flow to ensure timely and accurate meal delivery
  • Deliver food carts and trays to patient units; provide direct tray service as needed
  • Set up and restock food service areas, including tray line, kitchen, bakery, and salad stations
  • Prepare beverages and simple food items while ensuring proper temperature and presentation standards
  • Monitor food quality, safety, and equipment; report or resolve issues as needed
  • Receive, inspect, store, and rotate food and supplies in compliance with safety guidelines
  • Support dish room operations, including cleaning and sanitizing dishes, utensils, and equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness of all work areas, equipment, and service ware; dispose of waste properly

Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced kitchen and healthcare environment
  • Prolonged standing, lifting, and movement required
  • Exposure to hot, cold, and noisy conditions

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred (experience may substitute)
  • 1–2 years of food service experience preferred

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Reliable, adaptable, and able to follow procedures
