The Traveling Superintendent leads on-site construction for cold storage and tilt-wall industrial projects across Florida. This position oversees daily field operations, subcontractors, safety, quality, and schedule compliance while coordinating freezer, slab, and panel systems with the project team from mobilization through closeout. DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesField Leadership & Project ExecutionOversee all on‑site construction activities from site mobilization through project closeoutServe as the primary on‑site authority, directing subcontractors, labor forces, and suppliersEnsure work is completed in accordance with contract documents, plans, and specificationsCoordinate daily activities and sequencing with the Project Manager and project teamCold Storage & Tilt‑Wall ExpertiseManage construction of refrigerated buildings, freezer slabs, insulated enclosures, and vapor barrier systemsOversee tilt‑wall panel production, casting, erection, bracing, and patchingEnsure proper integration of structural, mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systemsMonitor specialized requirements related to temperature control, flatness, and building envelope performanceSchedule & Cost ControlDevelop and maintain detailed short‑term and long‑term look‑ahead schedulesTrack progress against milestones and proactively address schedule risksCoordinate inspections, testing, and approvals to maintain project momentumAssist in identifying cost‑saving opportunities and managing productivitySafety & Quality ControlEnforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations at all timesConduct daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and site inspectionsPromote a culture of safety, accountability, and professionalismImplement quality control procedures and ensure corrective actions are completedCommunication & DocumentationMaintain accurate daily logs, progress photos, and field reportsParticipate in coordination meetings, subcontractor meetings, and owner/architect walkthroughsCommunicate effectively with owners, inspectors, and design professionalsSupport project closeout activities, including punch lists and turnover documentationProfile RequiredMinimum 7-10 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial or industrial constructionDemonstrated experience with cold storage, freezer, distribution, or food‑grade facilitiesStrong background in tilt‑wall concrete constructionThorough understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and means and methodsAbility to travel extensively throughout FloridaProficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specificationsStrong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skillsMust be able to travel within the State of FloridaJob OfferCompetitive salary based on experiencePer diem and travel accommodations providedVehicle or vehicle allowance (as applicable)Health, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidays MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
