Description: Traveling Security & Access Control Technicians Needed Abilene Projects (Out of Austin / Central Texas)
Are you a skilled low voltage technician ready to hit the road and work on high-impact security projects? We re hiring experienced Security & Access Control Technicians based out of the Austin/Central Texas area to support ongoing work in Abilene. This is your chance to work with a leading national integrator on large-scale commercial security installations.
If you know your way around cameras, access control systems, and security devices and you re open to travel we want to talk to you.
About the Opportunity
You ll be part of a team installing and supporting commercial security systems on active job sites. These are high-visibility projects where your skills directly impact safety and functionality.
What You ll Do:
Install and terminate CCTV cameras, access control systems, and security devices
Work with door hardware including mag-locks, strikes, and motion devices
Pull, route, and dress low voltage cabling in commercial environments
Read blueprints and follow project layouts
Mount and install equipment including cameras, panels, and control devices
Assist with system testing, troubleshooting, and final punch lists
Travel from Austin/Central Texas to Abilene project sites (travel pay provided)
Qualifications / Who You Are
2+ years of experience in security, access control, or CCTV installation
Familiar with installing and terminating:
Cameras
Card readers
Door hardware (mag-locks, strikes, DPS)
Motion detectors and security devices
Comfortable working on commercial construction sites
Able to read prints and follow directions with minimal supervision
Willing to travel during the project duration
Strong work ethic and team mindset
