Traveling Quality Control Manager

The Traveling Quality Control Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing project-specific quality control programs on large-scale construction projects. This individual will work closely with project leadership, field teams, owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure all work complies with contract requirements, industry standards, and client expectations.

With a strong backlog of large-scale projects and continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Traveling Quality Control Manager to drive quality excellence across high-profile builds nationwide.

Description

• Lead all project quality control and quality assurance activities from preconstruction through project closeout.
• Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality Control Plans.
• Manage inspection and testing programs to ensure compliance with contract documents and project specifications.
• Coordinate with owners, design teams, commissioning agents, and third-party inspectors.
• Conduct quality audits, field inspections, and deficiency tracking.
• Review construction documents, submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and material specifications for compliance.
• Identify quality concerns proactively and implement corrective actions.
• Manage punch list development, tracking, and closeout activities.
• Ensure all testing, inspection, and documentation requirements are properly completed and maintained.
• Provide quality training and mentorship to project teams and trade partners.
• Participate in owner meetings, progress meetings, and project reviews.
• Collaborate with Superintendents and Project Managers to ensure quality standards are maintained without impacting schedule objectives.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout all project phases.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of construction quality control, quality assurance, field management, or superintendent experience.
• Experience on large-scale commercial, industrial, mission critical, healthcare, manufacturing, or federal projects.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, building systems, and project documentation.
• Experience managing inspections, testing procedures, commissioning activities, and turnover documentation.
• Knowledge of QA/QC best practices and construction quality management systems.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel extensively and work on projects nationwide.

• • USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM-C) Certification.
  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), CQM, or similar quality certifications.
  • Experience supporting federal or mission critical construction projects.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
