Job Details

The Traveling Commercial Roofing Inspector will serve as a technical resource and quality assurance representative across active roofing projects throughout the Southwest region. This individual will conduct roof inspections, identify deficiencies, document findings, and work closely with operations teams to ensure projects meet company, manufacturer, and client standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform inspections of commercial roofing projects throughout the Southwest U.S.
  • Evaluate workmanship, installation methods, safety compliance, and project quality
  • Inspect a variety of roofing systems including TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, BUR, metal roofing, coatings, and waterproofing systems
  • Document inspection findings through detailed reports, photos, and recommendations
  • Identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective action plans with field teams
  • Conduct pre-construction, in-progress, and final project inspections
  • Support warranty inspections and manufacturer compliance requirements
  • Assist operations teams in troubleshooting roofing system failures and leak investigations
  • Review project specifications, submittals, and installation requirements
  • Maintain strong relationships with project managers, superintendents, clients, consultants, and manufacturers
  • Travel extensively throughout Arizona, Nevada, California, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and surrounding Southwest markets

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of commercial roofing experience required
  • Experience inspecting or overseeing commercial roofing installations
  • Strong knowledge of low-slope roofing systems and building envelope applications
  • Ability to identify installation deficiencies and recommend corrective actions
  • Experience with reroof, service, maintenance, and new construction projects
  • Familiarity with manufacturer specifications and warranty requirements
  • Excellent written documentation and reporting skills
  • Ability to travel 50-75% throughout the Southwest region
  • Must reside near a major airport
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications:
  • RRO, RRC, CDT, CQM, OSHA, or similar industry certifications
  • Manufacturer certification experience (Carlisle, GAF, Johns Manville, Elevate, Soprema, etc.)
  • Building envelope or waterproofing inspection experience
  • Drone inspection experience is a plus
