Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality diagnostic X-ray examinations according to physician orders and departmental protocols
  • Prepare patients for radiographic procedures by explaining exams, reviewing medical history, and ensuring patient comfort
  • Position patients accurately to obtain optimal diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure
  • Operate digital radiography equipment and ensure high-quality imaging standards
  • Evaluate completed images for diagnostic quality before submission to the radiologist
  • Follow radiation safety guidelines and ALARA principles to protect patients, staff, and yourself
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS)
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Perform routine equipment quality assurance checks and report maintenance issues promptly
  • Adhere to infection prevention standards, patient safety protocols, and facility policies
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care during routine, urgent, and emergency imaging procedures
Requirements
  • Active Michigan Radiologic Technologist License (if required by state regulations)
  • ARRT Certification in Radiography (R) required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent X-Ray Technologist experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Experience performing diagnostic radiography in an acute care hospital or imaging center
  • Strong knowledge of radiographic positioning, anatomy, and radiation safety
  • Experience using PACS and electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient care skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the healthcare team
  • Commitment to providing accurate imaging and exceptional patient care
