Job Title: Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist Profession: Clinical Professional Specialty: Cardiac Ultrasound Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Sunday - Thursday Hours per Shift: 9:00 AM - 6:30 PM Experience: 2-3 years of experience; At least 1 year of previous traveler experience License: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Six months of related experience - Ability to work independently - Ability to utilize critical thinking skills - Ability to communicate effectively with surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare staff regarding Cardiac Ultrasound results - Ability to serve in on-call rotation after regular business hours Description: Responsible for diagnostic cardiac or vascular ultrasound. Provides measurements and accurate images of cardiac structures to assist physicians in making accurate diagnoses. Delivers immediate feedback with preliminary reports of critical results. Assists physicians with complex procedures to decrease associated risks. Demonstrates correct technique, efficiency, and judgment in advanced cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures. Performs adult and/or pediatric cardiac ultrasound procedures including TEE and stress echo. Reviews pertinent patient data and reports before procedures. Operates necessary equipment to obtain optimal diagnostic recordings. Exercises appropriate judgment in notifying physicians of abnormal results. Documents all procedures accurately in departmental tracking processes. Collaborates in the maintenance of departmental efficiency. Anticipates needs in equipment and supplies. Utilizes resources wisely to assist in cost containment. Supports unit or departmental goals through quality assurance and educational activities. Maintains current competency and registry in two specialty practices. Participates in departmental quality assurance processes and accreditation processes. Modifies behavior to meet changing departmental goals. Maintains a clean environment and practices infection control. Promotes safety for patients, visitors, and personnel. Maintains confidentiality of all healthcare information. Collaborates effectively with all healthcare team members. Utilizes independent judgment in making decisions from diversified alternatives. Coordinates activities of others without direct supervision. Works directly with patients and customers. Engages with healthcare professionals and staff regularly.
