Join the team as an Ultrasound Technologist (Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) where you will operate specialized ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic-quality images used by physicians to diagnose and treat medical conditions.
Minimum Requirements:
- National certification in specialty from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or from Cardiovascular Credentialing International.
- 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer.
- BLS Certification.
- Ability to perform general, OBGYN, and vascular studies.
- Competence working on Parks Flo-lab unit.
- Competence with GE E10 and E9 ultrasound systems.
- Experience using EPIC electronic medical record system.
- Experience using McKesson PACS.
- Willingness to perform portable exams on inpatient units when needed.
- If assigned to overnight shifts, OB certification is required. (Preferred when nights assigned.)
- Preferred: previous experience in a Level III trauma center or with primary stroke center workflows.
Assignment Details
- Facility type: Hospital.
- Shift: Mid Shift, 1200–0000 (Mids, 3x12 schedule).
- Standard hours per week: 36.
- Patient types: Inpatient and outpatient adults. Exams include OB/pelvic, vascular (ABIs, reflux studies, venous insufficiency mapping, carotids), small parts, and general ultrasound. Few pediatric patients.
- Imaging environment: Multiple imaging rooms including ED and breast imaging locations. Department staffed 24/7; day shifts have other sonographers, nights may be solo.
- Orientation: One week with a preceptor.
- Weekend rotation: approximately 1 weekend per contract.
- Holiday expectation: on call for one holiday per contract.
- Schedule variability: shifts may be day, mid, or night and may include 8-, 9-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts depending on assignment.
- Floating: will perform portable studies on inpatient floors as required.
- Transport and radiology support: radiologist onsite by day with remote coverage at night; transporters available during day shifts; respiratory therapy and hospitalist support 24/7.
- Parking: free campus parking available.
