Job Title: Ultrasound Technician Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: General Ultrasound Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 8 hours (14:00 - 22:30) Experience: Minimum of 18 months permanent experience in specialty prior to travel License: Must have a permanent license in hand at the time of submission Certifications: Required certifications must be active with nothing pending Must-Have: Two references from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty applying for are required to qualify for submission. References must be from assignments worked in the past 12 months. Must complete ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate during orientation. An acceptable score on both assessments is required. Traveler will receive two attempts maximum to pass. Description: The Ultrasound Technician will perform a variety of ultrasound procedures. The technician will ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures. A high level of attention to detail is necessary to produce high-quality images. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging results will be part of the role. The technician will maintain equipment and ensure it is in good working condition. They will document all findings accurately in the patient's medical record. Patient education regarding the ultrasound process will also be required. Adherence to all safety protocols and guidelines is mandatory. Continuous professional development and learning are encouraged. The position may involve working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Flexibility in scheduling is an important aspect of this role. Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with patients and staff.
