Job Title: Registered Ultrasound Technologist Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: Ultrasound Tech - General Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 1 year related experience as a Sonographer License: Active Arkansas license in good standing Certifications: ARDMS, ARRT, and current CPR Must-Have: Graduate of an Ultrasound/Sonography program Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure Description: The Registered Ultrasound Technologist is responsible and accountable for providing quality imaging of patients. This aids in the diagnosis and continuum of care for patients. The technologist will assist in exams. The position requires effective oral and written communication. The ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and twist is essential. Occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 100 pounds is required. The role involves spending eight hours or more performing sonography exams in various departments. A keen sense of hearing and visual acuity is necessary. The work environment is within a hospital setting that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The technologist may be required to go into on-call rotation and respond to calls within 30 minutes. Physical demands will involve various tasks that may require reasonable accommodations. Interdisciplinary support teams are available, including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Social Services. The patient age groups served range from adolescents to geriatrics, with a daily census averaging 350. The position involves various ultrasound procedures, including guided biopsies and paracentesis. Experience with Siemens ultrasound equipment and appropriate transducers is preferred.
