Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist Profession: Ultrasound Technologist Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Hours per Shift: 8.5 hours Experience: 2+ years as Ultrasound Technologist License: Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers Certifications: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Must-Have: Exact VU ultrasound system experience, Prostate experience Description: The Ultrasound Technologist performs or assists in ultrasound examinations. The technologist renders technical assistance to the Radiologist. The technologist maintains and cares for all ultrasound equipment. Prepares and examines all patients for ultrasound examinations in accordance with established departmental procedures and techniques. Operates and adjusts ultrasound equipment, taking safety precautions necessary to protect patients and personnel from electric shock or other hazards. Sets up, operates, cleans, and makes minor adjustments to ultrasound equipment. Ensures adequate supplies are available for use. Assists in the orientation and mentoring of new ultrasound personnel. Captures images onto PACS and transfers them to physicians' workstations. Answers telephones, schedules examinations, and may initiate transportation. Performs other duties as required.
