Job Title: Monitor Technician I Profession: Patient Care Support Specialty: FS Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: None or an equivalent combination of education and experience License: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association Certifications: None required Must-Have: Knowledge of basic arrhythmia interpretations and performing ECG tracings is helpful. Good computer skills. Good interpersonal skills that allow for developing effective working relationships with staff. Description: Under general supervision, will monitor telemetry setup on patients. Responsible for monitoring patients once nursing staff have attached them to the telemetry unit. Check for accurate date and time printout on rhythm strips. Provide daily printouts of each patient's rhythm strip. Maintain appropriate alarm settings for each patient. Assist in troubleshooting monitor equipment. Alert staff when a patient is in crisis. Perform ECGs as needed. Maintain supplies for the monitor area. Perform other duties as assigned.
