Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring 3 years of recent telemetry experience and Level 1 Trauma experience.

Details

  • Work in the Telemetry unit of a Level 1 Trauma hospital
  • Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday coverage required if needed
  • Float to other telemetry floors as needed
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active FL or Compact RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS via AHA
  • Minimum 3 years of recent telemetry experience required
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • 2 years of recent consecutive acute care experience within a US hospital in the past 24 months required if degree is from an FBON-approved institution
  • Degree from an accredited nursing school required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Skills required: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, O2 protocol management, non-invasive airway management, management of drips, peripheral line care/management, central line care/management, blood product administration, and isolation precautions/PPE
  • Completion of a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening required, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review

  • Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response for a cardiovascular patient population including post-MI, pre/post cardiac cath, and pre/post cardiac surgery cases
  • Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
  • Smoke-free facility
  • Local candidates considered within a 60-mile radius at a lower rate than travel positions
  • Former Broward Health permanent employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
  • Candidates from Operation Nightingale Schools are not accepted
  • Must pass a basic arrhythmia assessment, with a retake exam available within 24 hours if needed
