Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Telemetry position at a 355-bed Duke Lifepoint hospital in Hickory, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of cardiac/telemetry experience.
Details
- 24-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit with a cardiac/telemetry specialty focus
- Patient population consists of generalized cardiac patients ranging from young adult to elderly adult
- Common diagnoses and treatments include chest pain, A-fib, CHF, pre- and post-care for cardiac caths (groin and radial), and VATS
- Patient ratio is 4:1
- Equipment used includes LifePak, Zoll, and Masimo monitoring devices
- EMR is Cerner (experience preferred)
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Occasional floating to IMCU, NPCU, and/or Surgical may be required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry or cardiac nursing experience
- Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
- Hands-on experience with LifePak, Zoll, and Masimo equipment required
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Candidates must reside 60+ miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate

- Large regional medical center with specialized centers including a Brain Center, Cancer Center, Heart Center, Lung Center, Orthopedics, General and Vascular Surgery, Surgical Weight Loss, Women's Center, and a Level 3 NICU
- Facility also includes a 32-bed ED, 29-bed inpatient rehab, 15-bed surgical suite, and an 81-bed adult Behavioral Health Hospital on the South Campus
- Described as a family-oriented unit
- Any color scrubs are acceptable
- Candidates may not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
- Candidates may not be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
