Job Summary:
Telemetry Medical Surgical Float Nurse in Centennial, Colorado. This position involves providing patient care in a float capacity across various units within a designated zone. The role requires flexibility to float between multiple facilities, including acute care settings, with a focus on adult and geriatric populations.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Colorado licensure to submit, ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS certification, 2 years of experience in telemetry medical surgical nursing.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior neuro experience is preferred.
- Float: Float rotation may be required within Zone 1, covering facilities around Colorado Springs and Pueblo, Colorado. Travelers are expected to float across multiple units ranging from general medical-surgical to specialized units such as Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Renal, Orthopedic, Trauma, and Emergency Department Observation.
- Schedule: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with schedules released 4 to 6 weeks in advance. Flexibility to support gaps in permanent staffing and assist with weekend shifts (6-9 shifts in a 6-week schedule).
- Operational Details: No home facility; candidates must be located at least 60 miles from all assigned facilities. May be asked to float into additional acuity levels, including ICU (for low acuity patients), Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Stepdown, and Medical Surgical Telemetry.
- Additional Information: Clinicians must be in the state for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are remote. The first float assignment will be communicated prior to the start date. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts if less than 13 weeks. Charting is completed via EPIC system.
