Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Telemetry Float position in Worcester, MA, requiring prior travel experience, Epic proficiency, and a current MA RN license.

Details

  • Float position primarily based in the North Pavilion, with potential floating to adult telemetry floors on the University Campus across the street
  • Telemetry patient population including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and a wide range of medical-surgical cases
  • Position begins on night shift (7p–7a, 4x12s) with the possibility of transitioning to day shift (7a–7:30p, 4x12s) after approximately one month based on unit needs
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Union facility — no special scheduling accommodations can be made; must be available to work all 7 days of the week

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license currently in hand
  • Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR proficiency required
  • Two professional references required for consideration, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
  • Candidates must reside more than 200 miles from the facility to qualify for this position

  • Responsibilities include cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and care of complex medical-surgical patients across neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, renal, and orthopedic populations
  • Preferred skills include management of cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration), tracheostomy care, ventilated patient care, central/PICC line management, and pre/post cardiac or surgical procedures
  • Two pass/fail exams are administered during orientation: a telemetry/EKG exam and a medication exam — each allows only one attempt; failure of either results in immediate contract cancellation
  • Study materials are provided during the compliance process and first-day instructions (FDIs) to help prepare for orientation exams
  • RTO of up to 14 days may be submitted for review; no RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment
  • Candidates who have worked within this health system must have a 12-month separation before being considered
  • Local candidates are accepted for this position
