Sterile Processing Technician

Location: Bethpage, NY

Pay: $1,884.80 per week

Shifts: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Seven Healthcare are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician for a travel assignment in Bethpage, New York. This role is based in a very large, busy state-of-the-art off-site reprocessing center providing sterile processing services for multiple facilities, including tertiary sites and ambulatory surgery centers. The technician will work in a sterile environment, ensuring compliance with standard sterilization techniques and policies.

Key Responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Technician
  • Supervise and coordinate the staff and daily operations of Central Sterile services.
  • Ensure staff compliance with sterilization techniques, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure sterilization activities are properly documented and participate in maintaining department records.
  • Serve as a liaison between Central Sterile department and perioperative areas, coordinating activities and resolving problems.
  • Ensure proper care and handling of all instrumentation received through the decontamination area.
  • Accept and tag fast tracks, and assign employees to job tasks daily.

Requirements of the Sterile Processing Technician
  • Current Registered Central Supply Technician Certification (CRCST or CSPD), must not expire during the term of the assignment.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Leadership/management experience is required.
  • Associate's Degree required or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds, manual dexterity, and ability to stand, bend, lift, and/or reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing) and follow oral and/or written instructions.
