Sterile Processing Technician

Location: Bethpage, NY

Pay: $1884.80 weekly

Shifts: 2p-10p, every third weekend required

Seven Healthcare are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician for a travel assignment in Bethpage, NY. This role involves working in a large, state-of-the-art off-site reprocessing center that provides sterile processing services to multiple facilities, including tertiary sites and ambulatory surgery centers. The technician will ensure compliance with sterilization techniques and assist in maintaining department records.

Key Responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Technician
  • Supervise and coordinate staff and daily operations of Central Sterile services.
  • Ensure staff compliance with sterilization techniques, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure sterilization activities are properly documented and maintain department records.
  • Serve as a liaison between Central Sterile department and perioperative areas.
  • Ensure proper care and handling of all instrumentation received through the decontamination area.
  • Accept and tag fast tracks.
  • Assign employees to job tasks daily and reassign them as needed.

Requirements of the Sterile Processing Technician
  • Current Registered Central Supply Technician Certification (CRCST or CSPD) must not expire during the term of assignment.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Leadership / management experience, required.
  • Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds required.
  • Manual dexterity, ability to stand, bend, lift, and/or reach for extended periods of time, required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing) and follow oral and/or written instructions, required.
