Sterile Processing Technician

Location: Bethpage, NY

Pay: $1,829.20 weekly

Shifts: 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

Seven Healthcare are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician for a travel assignment in a large, busy off-site reprocessing center in Bethpage, NY. This role specializes in sterile processing services across multiple facilities, including emergency services. Key Responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Technician
  • Disassemble, clean, sterilize, reassemble, and package sterile supplies according to specifications and department protocols
  • Operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, and additional equipment
  • Adhere to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts
  • Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment from various hospital areas for decontamination
  • Examine instruments for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality
  • Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory levels
  • Maintain a contaminant-free work environment

Requirements of the Sterile Processing Technician
  • Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD - must not expire during term of assignment)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of certified experience in a tertiary setting or 1 year of certified experience with 4 years of SPT experience in a tertiary setting
  • Experience with STERIS Washers, Autoclave, and IT System: SynergyTrak
  • Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Effective communication skills in English (verbal and written)
