Job Title: GI/Endo Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: GI/Endo Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 8 hours (11:00 - 19:30) Experience: 2 years minimum experience required License: Required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years - Must have completed at least 1 travel assignment Description: The GI/Endo Tech will assist in gastrointestinal and endoscopic procedures. Responsibilities include the cleaning and care of scopes and instruments. Candidates must be skilled in instrument processing and cleaning. Experience with bronchoscopy specimens and the labeling of specimens is required. Knowledge of bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is essential. Experience with Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) procedures is required. Adherence to infection control practices and sterilization/disinfection protocols is mandatory. Familiarity with the Universal Protocol, specifically the Time Out procedure, is necessary. On-call responsibilities will include 2-3 shifts every 6-week period, including holidays as needed. Candidates must have strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. The role requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and effective communication skills. Additional skills include assisting with biopsies and the use of various endoscopic equipment. This position demands proficiency in high-level disinfection (HLD) practices. Candidates should be prepared to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
