Sterile Processing Technician

Location: Bethpage, NY

Pay: $1763.20 per week

Shifts: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM, every other weekend required

Seven Healthcare are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician for a travel assignment at a large, state-of-the-art reprocessing center in Bethpage, NY. This facility provides essential sterile processing services for multiple tertiary sites and ambulatory surgery centers, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Technician
  • Disassemble, clean, sterilize, reassemble and package sterile supplies following specifications and department protocols
  • Operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, and additional equipment during sterilization procedures
  • Adhere to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts
  • Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment for decontamination
  • Examine instruments for cleanliness and functionality; report issues promptly
  • Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining inventory levels
  • Maintain a contaminant-free work environment

Requirements of the Sterile Processing Technician
  • Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD) valid for entire assignment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of certified experience in tertiary setting or 1 year with 4 years of SPT experience in the same setting
  • Proficient with STERIS Washers, Autoclave, and SynergyTrak IT system
  • Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds, and stand, bend, and reach for extended periods
  • Effective communication skills in English, verbal and written
