Job Title: Technologist-Polysomnographic Profession: Sleep Technician Specialty: Sleep Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:00 PM - 06:00 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years minimum License: BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) Certifications: - Certified Polysomnographic Tech credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) - Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) - Registered Polysomnographic Technologist credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) - Sleep Technician credentialed from the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) Must-Have: BLS certification Description: Performs basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies. Prepares patients and equipment for ordered testing. Interviews patients to determine sleep disorder issues and explain testing procedures. Performs and documents testing. Monitors patients throughout testing and intervenes as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues. Collects, analyzes, and integrates patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs. Scores, interprets, and reports results of sleep studies. Prepares, calibrates, repairs, and maintains equipment required for testing. Determines and reports needed repairs and replacements.
