Key Responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Technician
  • Process and maintain proper care of all surgical instruments and equipment
  • Inspect, evaluate, clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments
  • Maintain quality control and documentation records of the sterilization process
  • Distribute designated supplies and equipment throughout the medical center
  • Float between decontamination, assembly, and sterilization departments

Requirements of the Sterile Processing Technician
  • CRCST or CBSPD certification
  • Experience with SPM Tracking system
  • Minimum of 1.5 years of sterile processing experience
