Sterile Processing Technician - Travel

Location: New York

Pay: $1,494 per week

Shifts: Evenings, weekends, holidays, on call/callback per unit needs, 40 hours/week

Seven Healthcare are seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our state-of-the-art instrument processing and sterilizing facility in New York. This is a travel role within the Department of Sterile and Materials Processing, where you will assist in the decontamination, high-level disinfection, assembling, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments, trays, and pans to various operating rooms and clinics.

Key Responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Technician
  • Inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instrument pans, procedural trays, and technical equipment.
  • Operate steam sterilizers, ensuring proper time, pressure, and temperature levels.
  • Decontaminate surgical instruments following established procedures.
  • Receive and store supplies from outside vendors and hospital areas, checking stock against requisitions.
  • Perform quality assurance on sterile supplies, ensuring sterility dates and procedure cart accuracy.

Requirements of the Sterile Processing Technician
  • Certified Sterile Processor (HSPA or CBSPD)
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician
  • Large hospital experience (500 beds plus)
  • Must have travel experience (6 months)
  • Two professional references from last two assignments
