Surgical Scrub Technician

Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care and perform unit support activities within the operating room suite
- Anticipate surgeon and procedural needs by picking cases according to physician preference cards and assisting with dressings and cast application at case conclusion
- Perform and document accurate surgical counts, including instruments, towel clips, and related items, ensuring all counts are signed off before the patient leaves the room
- Update surgeon preference cards per established processes and report any count exceptions or discrepancies
- Identify procedural issues and take independent corrective action to support department objectives and quality of care
- Participate in teaching activities and contribute to department improvement through written process or cost-containment recommendations
Required Qualifications- Minimum of three years of experience as a scrub person in a hospital setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required prior to start
- Strong GYN surgical skills required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Preferred Experience / Skills- Completion of an approved Operating Room Technician program or equivalent on-the-job training
- Scrub Technician (CST) certification preferred
- OB and Labor & Delivery experience preferred
