Cardiac Surgical Technologist – Level 4

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Days | 36–48 hours per week | DEN rotation, weekends, holidays, and on-call per unit need
Key Responsibilities- Prepare instruments, equipment, and supplies for cardiac surgical procedures including CABGs, TAVIs, VADs, ECMO, artificial heart implants, and heart transplants
- Assist the surgical team from the scrub position during operations
- Maintain sterile technique and perform surgical counts in accordance with facility policy
- Ensure proper care and handling of instruments and facilitate room turnover between cases
- Demonstrate safe handling of sharps, solutions, and pharmacologic agents under the direction of a registered nurse
Required Qualifications- NBSTSA Certification or a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a cardiac operating room
- Ability to scrub and circulate
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (required)
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with advanced heart failure procedures including ECMO and heart transplants
- Familiarity with a multidisciplinary OR team environment caring for patients of all ages
