Job Title: Surgical Technologist Profession: Clinical - Allied Specialty: Certified Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Varies Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current certification as a Surgical Technologist Certifications: Current CPR certification, BLS for Healthcare Providers per the American Heart Association Guidelines Must-Have: SURGICAL TECHNOLOGY PATIENT CARE SURGICAL PROCEDURE PLANNING INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION PEDIATRIC EXPERIENCE Description: Incumbents in this position, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, participate in the delivery of patient care. They maximize outcomes in a manner consistent with the hospital's and department's mission and philosophies. They ensure safe patient care during a surgical procedure through the use of appropriate planning and implementation of patient care. Demonstrated skill in interpersonal communication is essential as it relates to patients, families, coworkers, physicians, and others. There is an interest in working with children and adolescents with disabilities and their families. Candidates must be physically able to transport patients. Prior experience in pediatrics is preferred. Experience as a Surgical Technologist with spine and complex orthopedic surgical experience is also preferred.
