Job Title: Surgical First Assist Profession: CSFA (Certified Surgical First Assist) Specialty: Surgical Technology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday-Friday Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification, BLS (AHA), Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) via NBSTSA Must-Have: License to practice Description: The Surgical First Assist is responsible for providing assistance during surgical procedures. This role involves collaboration with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes. Additional duties include preparing the operating room and maintaining sterile conditions. Call is required from 3:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with the possibility of weekend call from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM. The call schedule may require up to three days per week. Candidates must hold a current and valid license to practice as a Surgical First Assist. All required certifications must be up to date prior to employment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role. The position guarantees 40 hours per week. Candidates should be prepared for possible schedule changes based on unit needs.
