Job Title: Surgical First Assistant Profession: Certified Surgical First Assist Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 2+ Years of First Assistant Experience License: Active American Heart Association BLS Certifications: Active NBSTSA or ABSA FA Certification Must-Have: Proficient in Orthopedic procedures, specifically total joints, hip fractures, arthroscopy, ORIFs, and shoulder scopes and replacements. Proficient in General, Neuro, Vascular, Gynecology, and Urology procedures. Must be proficient in Da Vinci robotics. Description: Surgical Technologists – First Assistants are responsible for performing at a competent level of practice according to the standards of the area. They provide patient care and service through a multidisciplinary team approach. These professionals assist in emergency procedures as well as elective and scheduled cases. They function to maintain an environment of caring and concern for patients and staff members. This is done according to principles of patient-focused care and customer service.
