Job Title: Certified Surgical First Assistant Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Neuro and Plastics Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 2 years of experience required License: Must have a valid state license Certifications: BLS, NBSTSA Must-Have: Neuro and plastics experience required Travel experience required Description: Neuro and plastics experience is required. Local candidates within 60 miles will be accepted at a lower rate. The shift is 4x10 from 07:00 to 17:30. Certifications required include BLS and NBSTSA. Call requirement is 4-6 calls on weekdays. Weekend requirements include 3-5 weekend days in a six-week period. Holiday coverage is needed as required. Candidates must have experience with various surgical procedures including abdominal surgeries and orthopedic procedures. Documented experience with Cerner charting system is required. Candidates should be comfortable working in interdisciplinary support settings. Ability to handle patient care for adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics is essential. Candidates must be able to manage call requirements efficiently. A collaborative attitude and strong communication skills are necessary for patient safety and care. Travel experience in surgical settings is essential for this role. References from previous supervisory positions supporting at least 2 years of experience in the past 3 years are needed. Requested time off must be communicated upfront and can only be adjusted under special circumstances. Candidates are expected to comply with required assessments and complete training modules promptly. This role requires participation in on-call rotations and weekend shifts as designated. Compliance with safety measures and infection control protocols is paramount. Knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures specific to neuro and plastics surgeries is critical. Ability to provide assistance in a dynamic operating room environment is essential.
